A solution provider is a provider of services or value added reseller (VAR) that manages the project comprehensively the needs of its customers from concept through installation support.

This process usually involves the study of the client's current infrastructure, assessing customer needs, specifying the combination of hardware and software required to meet project objectives, the installation of hardware and software on the client's site (s). In many cases, the "solution" also includes service and support from the VAR.
